ABOUT WMU
What is WMU?
WMU (World Miss University) is a global youth peace ambassador platform established by the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) in celebration of the UN International Year of Peace (1986).
It brings together university women from around the world
to promote peace, cultural understanding, and global harmony
through intelligence, virtue, and diversity.

OUR FOUNDATION
Born from a Global Vision for Peace
WMU was created by the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP)
to embody the United Nations’ vision for the International Year of Peace (1986).
As a UN-affiliated higher-education body representing university presidents from over 100 countries, IAUP provides WMU with a global academic network through which young leaders can deliver messages of peace to the world.

HISTORY
Since its first event in 1986, WMU has grown into a global youth peace festival with participants from 70+ countries. WMU peace ambassadors have carried out humanitarian missions and cultural exchange activities in regions such as Kosovo and Rwanda.
ORGANIZATION

Peace Service Corps Committee
Designs and manages WMU’s peace missions
and humanitarian service programs worldwide.
